There are so many awesome statues and monuments in Ottawa! I used the Capital Tours App to guide me through the city on my hunt for different monuments. Here are some of my favorites that I came across:
Terry Fox – Located across from Parliament Hill
Sir Galahad – Located right in front of Parliament
The Animals in War Dedication – Honours animals that served alongside their human comrades in war. Located in Confederation Park
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – in front of the War Memorial. This is a hauntingly beautiful memorial and a great place to pay your respects to all those involved directly or indirectly in war.
Women are Persons – my very favourite! This monument is a tribute to the Famous Five: Irene Parlby, Louise McKinney, Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy and Henrietta Muir Edwards. Located on Parliament Hill.
Those monuments are the ones I liked the best throughout my search of downtown but there are several others that are worth checking out! Let me know – was your favourite Ottawa monument included in the list?
Thanks for sharing my adventures!
